No joke! Bengals take Sanu at No. 83

With the 83rd overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected … Mohamed Sanu, wide receiver from Rutgers.

Oh, and this time, it’s for real.

Our favorite wide receiver available at the start of day two, Sanu lasted 51 picks before being snagged by Cincinnati late in Round 3. The 6-foot-2, 211-pounder from Rutgers caught 115 passes for 1,206 yards and seven touchdowns in the 2011 season. He caught more than 200 balls over the last three seasons. Sanu has drawn early comparisons to former Bengal T.J. Houshmandzadeh for his meticulous route running and fearlessness over the middle. Sanu will likely compete for the No. 2 receiver spot from day one.

We’ll be updating through the conclusion of Day 2 on Twitter (@BengalsGab). Cincinnati’s next pick, No. 93 overall, isn’t far away.

Don’t know much about this guy….last time Bengals took a Big East reciever from under the radar the got Chris Henry who was very difficult to cover in the 3 spot. Not sure if we need him running over the middle though that’s Gresham, Shipley, and Hawks area.
