Fantasy Football site KFFL.com has come out with their list of “Overvalued Fantasy Players” for the 2007 season. Bengals WR Chad Johnson is the #1 WR on their list of Overvalued Players. Below are the comments on Johnson:
Chad Johnson, Cincinnati Bengals
Johnson will always be looked on favorably by fantasy owners because of his endless potential and freakish skills, but these attributes are also why he may struggle at times. Teams know that he has to be accounted for at all times, and even the best wide receiver will have difficulties when faced with constant double teams and smothering attention. Last year evidenced this fact as he didn’t score a touchdown until Week 8 and only finished with six overall (five coming in two consecutive games). His yardage output was good (1,369) and he finished with 87 receptions but touchdowns are where the big fantasy points lie and if he cannot find the end zone, he only relegates himself to a solid asset, not a superstar when it comes to fantasy leagues. He’s often the first receiver off the board, sometimes in the first round and often in the second, which is silly when there are more proven options available.
