Bengals Owner Mike Brown Last on 1-32 List of Owners on CNN/SI

Michael Silver of CNN/SI has come up with his list of 1-32 owners in the NFL.  Bad new for Bengals owner Mike Brown, as he was dead last on the list.  Here below are Silver’s comments as he ranks Brown #32.

Boy, Brown has sure done a fantastic job of bringing the Bengals into the 21st Century. Once known merely as a pathetic football team whose on-field ineptitude mirrored management’s cheap, clueless approach — the Bungles — Brown’s team has now become a national punch line, his players the poster children for malfeasance. Welcome to Sin City, or Cinci for short.

Until very recently, Brown sat back and watched as clowns like Chris Henry did incomprehensibly stupid things like get arrested for handgun charges while wearing his own jersey and kept their roster spots. You’d think someone who employs so many miscreants (10 Bengals players have been arrested in the last 14 months) would be careful about invoking the names of certain notorious villains, but this is what Brown did in front of more than 50 of his peers at last March’s owners’ meetings. In the midst of a complaint about the current stadium-building plan that is part of the league’s revenue-sharing arrangement, Brown was reminded by a fellow owner that he had taken advantage of the same plan (and a provision that allowed him to waive the club-seat premiums that normally go to visiting teams) upon opening Paul Brown Stadium several years earlier. According to a witness, Brown replied, “Look, it seemed like a good thing in the beginning. A lot of people think a lot of things are good in the beginning. A lot of people thought Hitler was good in the beginning.”

I gotta say you need to give Mike a break.
He is a cheapskate but isn’t that bad an owner.
He inked some pretty good players and even went after Shaun Rogers

Mike Brown is a terrible owner he has the most losses of any professional sporting team. He is greedy and inept but swears he knows the game like his father did. To defend a man who has made a mockery of the team his late great father built is a shame. I am just fearful all the lashings he is getting will make him sell the team depriving the great city of Cincinnati of there football team. I myself will not be an NFL fan anymore if Mike Brown sells the team or causes any irreparable damage.

Make one decision. Hire a General Manager. That’s it. Your team’s fans will say “finally” and you can know that you are not running into the same tree over and over again. Step to right about one foot (hiring the GM) and move past the tree… please.

I have just one thing to say about Mike Brown; The man put a franchise tag on a f*#@%ing kicker!!!!!!! Any owner/GM that does that has to be either A) clinically retarded, or B) out of his dman mind. Go ahead and keep him as an owner, but for christ’s sake hire a GM!

As a diehard Bengal’s fan for 35 years, I am starting to lose what little bit of hope I had left inside that we would become a good playoff team. When brown franchised tagged Graham that was the dagger to the heart and a slap in the face to the great fans of Cinncy!!! The best we can hope for is for him to have a heart attack, car accident, or some serious injury that prevents him from making decisions for the team!! I am beginning to wonder if he has down syndrome after seeing some of the decisions he has already made!!(Letting T.J. go) It is clearly all about money to him and not about winning..when the great people of Cinncy voted for a tax increase to build the new stadium..they deserve much better..what a smack in the face from Brown to the people of Cinncy!! He doesn’t care about us or the’s all $$$ to him!!
