Marvin Lewis Makes a Threat to Bengals Players Not Doing Their Part

The Bengals are going nowhere right now, having lost their first two games and having scored just nine points in those two games.

Coach Marvin Lewis is feeling the heat, and has come out and stated that those players that are not stepping up and doing their part are going to be sitting the bench or not even be on the team.

“This is not magic,” Lewis said of his speech to players,” Jim Owczarski of the Cincinnati Enquirer wrote. “You have to do the work. Offense, defense and special teams all alike. Changing; I said we got Kenny out of here. Not Kenny. We did. And they gotta understand that. They’re part of that. And the next time, look around, there will be different guys sitting there. And they realize that, too.

“That’s the part of it that everybody has to understand. We have to do it together, collectively. We had a period where I felt like this was the time to do it, and we had an opportunity to make it right and move forward and get back in this race, get back in the division, get back in the AFC and do what we set out to do.”

The first position that is very much under fire is quarterback, where Andy Dalton has done little to garner confidence with the team, not having led the team to a touchdown yet in 2017.
