Bengals defensive tackle Andrew Billings underwent surgery on his right knee on Monday, Paul Dehner of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. He was taken off on a cart during Wednesday’s practice against the Vikings.
Reports indicate the surgery revealed a torn meniscus and expectations are he’s out indefinitely and could miss the entire season, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Bengals were waiting for the surgery to gain a clearer view of the extent of the damage.
Billings, the fourth-round pick out of Baylor, expected to provide depth as a run stopper in the back of the defensive line room. Fortunately for the Bengals, they are already deep at the position.
