The Bengals over the weekend said ‘so long’ to safety Taylor Mays, and today there’s news as to why that roster decision took place as training camp gets closer for the cats.

It came out in March that Mays was going to be suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. Now it looks like if another team is going to take a chance on him, that team will have to wait half the season for his services, making him more likely a later season pickup.
