Dalton Not Happy About ‘BB Gun’ Comments From J.J. Watt

Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton rarely colors outside the lines in press conferences. For the most part of his career, he’s stuck to the basic talking points and avoided controversy at all costs, Paul Dehner of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

For all the talk about this being a different Dalton this year, maybe never was that more apparent than when he used his postgame press conference to offer a frustrated reaction to comments J.J. Watt made about him on the Monday Night Football postgame show.

On the show, Watt took a shot at Dalton, nicknamed the Red Rifle.

“Our goal was to come out here and make the Red Rifle look like a Red Ryder BB Gun, and I think we did that tonight,” Watt said.

Whether playful trash talk or not, Dalton took offense and offered his opinion on the comments loud and clear.

“I’m disappointed in him because of the integrity of this game,” Dalton said. “I have a lot of respect for him. He’s a really good player. There are a lot of kids and people who look up to him, and for him to make comments like that, he’s just showing that’s acceptable to say that kind of stuff. It’s disappointing for one of the best players in the league to come out and say something like that, so that’s all I’m going to say about that. I think he’s a good player, but for him to be one of the best in the league and to show that integrity, it shows what he’s about, and that’s disappointing.”

The Steelers, Ravens and Browns fans that post at L4SN think the Bengals record is all smoke and mirrors.

Cincinnati has a ton of talent though. Can they win in the postseason this year?
