The Bengals have placed both rookie offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi and linebacker Vontaze Burfect on active/NFI roster for the start of training camp according to Bengals.com.
It is very possible that both players miss the preseason and end up on PUP, which would cost them the first six gmes of the regular season. The Bengals plan to be extremely cautious with Ogbuehi, their first-round draft pick out of Texas, as they do not want to jeopardie his future as he recuperates from a knee injury. The team has left tackle Andrew Whitworth and right tackle Andre Smith written in as starters until Ogbuehi is ready.
Burfict situation is even more serious. Arguably the Bengals’ best defensive player, it is conceivable that he could miss the entire 2015 season as he recovers from microfracture surgery and neck issues.
