Dalton Understands Criticism After Loss To Chargers

Wild Card Playoffs - San Diego Chargers v Cincinnati Bengals

Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton threw two interceptions and lost a fumble on a head-first dive in the second half of the Bengals’ 27-10 wild-card loss to the Chargers Sunday afternoon. With another first-round playoff loss, Dalton’s postseason record stands at 0-3.

“Unfortunately, the last three years, we haven’t been able to win one of these playoff games,” Dalton said according to Lindsay Jones of USA Today. “Obviously there is going to be a lot of criticism and talk, but until you win and prove people wrong, people can say whatever they want.”

It will mean an offseason full of questions about Dalton’s long-term future as he heads into the final year of his contract in 2014.

“I don’t have any questions about Andy’s role in this things. We just have to keep working it,” coach Marvin Lewis said. “We’ve got to make sure we’re doing everything to help Andy all the time. He’s going to be very disappointed in himself today, obviously. He is the football team, and I’m sure he’s very disappointed.”
