Week Two Monday 9/16 vs Pittsburgh – The Jungle should be rocking for the Bengals home opener on a Monday night vs the Steelers, a team they were unable to beat at home a year ago. Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers trailed early, but hung in and eventually won in Cincy on a Sunday night a year ago. Now the Bengals D is even better, and they have to be able to land an early knockout on their division foes. The Steleers D is a year older, and it’s up to Andy Dalton to hit some shots downfield vs the Steelers secondary to give the Bengals some short fields with shots for easy scores. It’s always high emotion when these two teams meet.
Week Five Sunday 10/06 vs New England – Anytime you get the Pats in your house, you have to do whatever it takes to rattle Tom Brady and that Pats offense into mistakes. We will see if the Bengals D can do that vs Brady, who is going to try to confuse the Bengals D with their usual short passes and very good pace on offense. The Pats defense can be run upon, and it’ll be up to the Bengals coaching staff to put a good game plan together and not make mistakes as they try to beat one of the best in the AFC.
Week Ten Sunday 11/10 at Baltimore – The big bad champs will be tough to beat again in 2013, but they are really the team the Bengals need to beat in order to win the division. The Ravens don’t appear to be as good as they were a season ago, losing players in free agency and emotional leader Ray Lewis to retirement. If the Bengals can build a lead and put pressure on Joe Flacco, an upset can be had in Baltimore, and it would be a huge one for this Bengals team.
