A week after losing to brother Peyton, the Bengals took out some frustration on Eli Sunday, as they pounded the Giants 31-13 to hopefully get their season back on track.
Needless to say, everything that could have gone the Bengals way – did.
Andy Dalton threw for a career-high four TD’s and 199 yards
He also didn’t throw a pick nor did he get sacked
They forced four second half turnovers as they pulled away in the runaway win
They shined on special teams with a long punt return
The most important thing was just a win. Now they are 4-5, and can begin to start looking ahead a little and thinking about the chances to make the postseason again.
Beating the Steelers and Ravens won’t be easy, more so considering they play the Ravens in Cincy, but the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
Right now, the Bengals remain two games behind in the wild-card race, and getting there isn’t going to be easy, but a win over the Giants could be the confidence boost this team needed.
The win over the Giants also broke a seven-game losing streak against teams with winning records when the Bengals take them on. Maybe now, the team is finally starting to really turn the corner.
