Cincinnati looks to get back on track tonight

The Bengals-Ravens series has a special place in the minds of Bengals fans and their coach. Head Coach Marvin Lewis made a name for himself in Baltimore, leading the Ravens defense for six years including the vaunted 2000 Super Bowl-winning squad that allowed just 10.3 points per game in the regular season.

Since coming to Cincinnati in 2003, Lewis-led Bengals teams are 10-8 against the Ravens with more than half of those games being decided by eight points or less. Cincinnati, however, has lost its last three games to the Ravens – each decided by one score.

That mark is well off what it was before Lewis took over the Bengals in 2003. Prior to that season, Cincinnati had lost nine of 10 contests to Baltimore, many of them to Lewis-coached defenses. The all-time series between the Bengals and Ravens, which dates back to the Ravens’ move from Cleveland in 1996, stands at 18-14 in favor of Baltimore.
