Hall Done for the Rest of the Season with Torn Right Achilles’ Tendon

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown (84) catches a pass against Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Leon Hall

CB Leon Hall will miss the remainder of the season with a torn right Achilles’ tendon, Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Hall was injured during the second quarter of the Bengals’ 24-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Since he was selected in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft out of Michigan, Hall has not missed an NFL game, appearing in all 73 games over the last four and a half seasons, a streak that ranked fifth among active NFL cornerbacks. Hall’s 65-game starting streak was the second-longest behind the 192-game streak that Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Ronde Barber has put together.

In those 73 games, Hall has 290 tackles and 20 interceptions. The Bengals signed Hall to a four-year, $39 million contract extension before the start of the regular season.

Without Hall, the Bengals are expected to start either Kelly Jennings or Adam Jones at cornerback opposite Nate Clements. Jennings may have an edge in the experience department, starting 44 games over his five-year career with the Seattle Seahawks.
