Simpson Not Expected to Be Active This Week

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that he would be “very surprised” if wide receiver Jerome Simpson was active for Sunday’s game against the 49ers.

Simpson was not at practice today and the Bengals are letting him “chill” after 8.5 pounds of marijuana was found in his house on Tuesday. It is a real shame because Simpson had a phenomenal game last week and looke like he was the guy ready to step up to start opposite A.J. Green. Andre Caldwell will likely start in Simpson’s place on Sunday.

So far from everything I’ve seen Jerome hasn’t been convicted of anything nor charged. Don’t players have to test for drug use? Yes. Marijuana would surely show up in those tests so nothing so far leads me to believe Jerome himself was involved in anything other than having the wrong address.
If charged and convicted it’s another story, but till then Jerome, like every citizen is innocent until proven guilty.
The law doesn’t give us the luxury of convicting citizens in blogs and comment sections.
