Rookie QB Dalton Goes Up Against Bengals D at Workouts

Rookie quarterback Andy Dalton got to throw passes against the Cincinnati Bengals’ defense for the first time. The second-round draft pick completed one nice deep throw to Jerome Simpson during a scaled-down practice at the University of Cincinnati on Wednesday.

He’s been embraced by teammates, who found it odd not to have Carson Palmer calling the plays. Palmer has informed the team he’ll retire if he’s not traded. The Bengals’ offense and defense got together on Wednesday for the first time since the NFL locked out its players March 12.
