A Bengals official said the team’s stance on QB Carson Palmer has not changed and they will not trade him to another team, reports Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer. On Jan. 25, Mike Brown said at the Senior Bowl about Palmer: “He is key to our plans, he’s central to us. He was told that and that we count on him going forward. He was told that we are not in a position to trade him.”
Any talk though about Palmer’s possible market value or where he could be traded remain a moot point until a new collective bargaining agreement is reached. With both sides though agreeing to a seven-day extension and hope that one could be reached by then, all scenarios involving Palmer might quickly move from hypothetical to reality.
