Palmer to the Niners?

NFL Network’s Mike Lombardi considers the 49ers a viable landing spot for Carson Palmer if the Bengals choose to trade him.  New 49ers head man Jim Harbaugh is close with Lombardi, so the story has some credence.   San Francisco could potentially be an ideal team for Palmer himself, who is a California boy and who’s wife, Shaelyn, grew up in the area.

The Niners hold the 7th pick in the first round, but the most they’ll likely offer will be a second round pick, unless the teams get imaginative with additional players or picks. Another option could be Seattle, where Palmer would be re-united with his old college coach, Pete Carroll.  Seattle holds the 25th pick in round one.
