Bengals Opponents for 2011 Set

Thanks to the NFL’s rotating scheduling formula, and the fact that we  know the Bengals finished 4th in the AFC North this year (first to worst, baby!), we can determine their opponents for 2011.  They are:

Home games:  Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Baltimore, Buffalo, Arizona, San Francisco, Indianapolis, and Houston

Away games:  Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Baltimore, Denver, Jacksonville, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tennessee

Besides the typical home-and-home games within the division, the AFC North teams will face all the  AFC South and NFC West clubs next year.  The Bengals will also play Denver and Buffalo as they finished last in the other AFC divisions (East and West).

This line-up should be a welcome change for the Bengals after playing the toughest strength of schedule in the league in 2010.  Based on 2010, the NFC West is by far the worst division in football, with a 7-9 division winner, and the AFC South is weak with Houston, Jacksonville, and Tennessee all missing the playoffs, and the Colts having a down year.

Looking at their 2011 opponents played in 2010, the Bengals went 2-4 versus the divisional opponents, and lost to both Buffalo and Indianapolis.
