Wide Receiver Conundrum

As we shift our attention to 2011, the question of whether Marvin Lewis and Carson Palmer will be back seems to predominate, but one question also well-worth pondering is which wide receivers will be back.

Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens provided the team with perhaps the most talented duo in the history of the team, but their talents did not bring victories.  With both playing only sparingly Sunday, youngsters like Jerome Simpson, Andre Caldwell, and Jordan Shipley were able to shine, getting rave reviews from Lewis and Palmer for their development and willingness to block in the running game.

Terrell Owens is a free agent after this year.  Chad Ochocinco has a club option for 2011 at 6 million dollars.  Is T.O. worth bringing back?  Should the Ocho retire a Bengal, or is it time for a mutually beneficial divorce?  Should the Bengals go to a full-on youth movement, forcing Simpson, Caldwell, and Shipley to grow up?  The team could also draft Georgia WR A.J. Green, who some consider to be the next Randy Moss.

What do you think, Gab Nation?
