Bengals-Pats: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

The Good

–Carson Palmer rang up an impressive 354 yards passing and 2 touchdowns.  Chad Ochocinco had 159 yards receiving and a touchdown.  Reminds one of the 2005 to 2007 days.

–Terrell Owens surpassed 15,000 career receiving yards and Chad Ochocinco surpassed 10,000.  Chad’s only the sixth player to reach that pinnacle all with one team.

–Mike Nugent’s 54-yard field goal was something Shayne “Moonlight” Graham would never have been able to do.  Coach Lewis wouldn’t even try it.

–It’s only week one.  There’s plenty of time to right the ship.

The Bad

–Wes Welker abused this defense.  Repeatedly.

–Run defense was very suspect for a unit that’s supposed to be good against the run.

–The offense was vanilla and predictable until getting down by 17 points.

–The fake hurry-up with the extremely long reviewing and adjusting at the line isn’t very good.  It doesn’t provide much help in seeing the defense and it gets the offense out of rhythm.

–An interception returned for a touchdown and a kick-off returned for a touchdown gave the Patriots 14 gimme points.  The Bengals lost by 14 points.

The Ugly

–24 points surrendered in one half.  ‘Nuff said.

–A fumble from Cedric Benson and only 40 yards rushing.

–Absolutely no pass rush whatsoever.  The closest person to getting a sack was Geno Atkins—in the fourth quarter.

–Some drops by T.O.

–Pittsburgh squeaked out a win against Atlanta.
