Bengals Still In Fullback Market

Perhaps the Bengals realize that Daniel Coats isn’t the answer at fullback after all.  NFP is reporting that they continue to be in the market for a capable lead blocker, and are looking at Owen Schmitt, formerly of Seattle:

The Cincinnati Bengals plan to audition former Seattle Seahawks fullback Owen Schmitt next Tuesday, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

Schmitt is a bruising lead blocker and a physical special-teams contributor.

Schmitt played collegiately at West Virginia.

He’s known for his aggressive approach to the game.

The Bengals tried out former New York Jets fullback Jason Davis earlier this week, but he wasn’t signed to a contract.
