Lewis: TJ Homecoming Unlikely

Head Coach Marvin Lewis poured cold water on speculation the team might be interested in bringing back WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh.  The #3 all time receiver in Bengals history was let go by the Seahawks yesterday.  Here’s what coach Lew had this to say:

“It’s unfortunate that T.J. got released. He’s going to get another opportunity. He’ll make the most of that opportunity and I’ll be happy for him,” Lewis said. “I had people call and contact me as far as T.J. and I gave him a true, honest appraisal and a very honest one. T.J. helped us get where we are today. He’s a good, young pro and a good man and he did a lot of good leading in this building.”

Rumors are that the Vikings and Raiders have the most interest in the pony-tailed one, although Vikings coach Brad Childress denies it.  The Bengals likely feel that they have younger options with Andre Caldwell and Jordan Shipley already ticketed for the slot.
