Details on the Gresham Deal

Joe Reedy has the details on first-round pick TE Jermaine Gresham’s contract:

First-round pick Jermaine Gresham agreed to a five-year, $15.85 million contract Monday. Its value could reach $18.5 million with escalator clauses; $9.6 million is guaranteed.

“I’m glad the signing will happen,” said coach Marvin Lewis after Monday evening’s practice. “He’ll work at it. We’ve got a lot of snaps for him to get accustomed and get back in. He’ll take 50 percent of the snaps. He’s part of the reason why we’re out here, so it’s good that he’s here.”

Looks like the team will work hard to get Gresham ready to start week one versus the Patriots.  Gresham’s unique talents are being counted on to help exploit the middle of the field and give Carson Palmer’s more options.
