Bengals Waive Santucci

The Bengals continued to pare down their roster in anticipation of rookie draft pick deals as training camp approaches.

Center/Guard Dan Santucci, once thought to be the heir apparent at Center, was released by the team today. The former 7th-round pick in the 2007 draft  barely saw the field in his 3 full seasons in Cincinnati.  He was active for only 2 games, and both were in his rookie year.

Santucci battled a constant string of injuries during his time with the team, particulary in 2008 and 2009 as he ended both years on injured reserve.

With Kyle Cook seizing the starting Center position, and with other viable options like Jonathan Luigs and Reggie Stephens now on the roster, Santucci found himself in a numbers game.
