News & Notes

NFL.com announced OTA and mini-camp schedules for all 32 teams.

OTA dates for the Bengals:  May 11, May 13, May 18-20, May 25, May 27, June 1-3, June 8, June 10, June 14

Mini-camp dates for the Bengals:  April 30-May 2 (rookies), June 15-17

Joe Reedy reports that Jermaine Gresham will wear TJ’s #84, and our 2009 Hard Knocks won 2 Emmys.  NFL Films president Steve Sabol again attributed the show’s success to the access the team granted the producers.

Also from the hard-working Reedy, comes word that the Bengals aren’t done shopping for back-up backs, having brought former Packer Deshawn Wynn in for a visit.

Hobson has a human interest piece on our new TE, Jermaine Gresham, his annual filler after the draft, and also explores further the point I made on draft day that Jordan Shipley and Quan Cosby were teammates and friends at Texas.  I still think Shipley might be taking Cosby’s job.

The Bengals should officially announce their list of undrafted free agents signed by Thursday or Friday, but in the meantime, Reedy listed for us the ones he discovered, aside from running backs  Joe Tronzo (Louisville) and  Mikell Simpson (Virginia) that we reported previously:

Safety Jeromy Miles, UMass; safety Bryan Evans, Georgia;  Virginia; running back Cordera Eason, Mississippi; tight end Jeff Cottam, Tennessee; linebacker Vincent Rey, Duke and long snapper Mike Windt from the nearby University of Cincinnati.

My faves to make the team are Vincent Rey:

Mikell Simpson:

And Bryan Evans:

…and lastly, just as a reminder, former Cowboys that the Bengals have previously expressed interest in, DB Pacman Jones and WR Terrell Owens, remain on the market…for whatever that’s worth.

Question:  Can Pacman play Safety?  Just a thought…
