Report: Jeanty Visits Dolphins

Less than one week after the Dolphins outbid the Bengals for free agent OG Richie Incognito, the fish have set their sights on another free agent the Bengals have in their plans.

This time, its their own:  LB Rashad Jeanty

National Football Post is reporting that Jeanty is visited the Dolphins on Thursday.

Jeanty is a restricted free agent and was tendered by the Bengals at the “low round” rate, meaning the team would be compensated with a draft pick in the round the player was chosen in if the Bengals choose not to match.  Since Jeanty was not drafted and was signed out of the CFL, the team would get no compensation at all if they don’t match an offer.

Jeanty is coming off a broken leg in the playoff loss to the Jets.  He spent most of 2009 in a back-up role to rookie Rey Maualuga, but is considered a big, tough linebacker who specializes in run support and is a good special teamer.
