Bengals Add Another WR

….but it’s not T.O.

Adam Schefter reports via his Twitter feed that the team has signed Chris Davis, formerly of the Tennessee Titans.

Here’s an excerpt from the release:

Davis (5-10, 181) was a fourth-round Tennessee draft choice in 2007, and in two seasons (2007-08) with the Titans, he played in 17 games plus two postseason games as a receiver and kick returner. He averaged 9.1 yards on 33 punt returns, 26.0 yards on six kickoff returns and had seven receptions for 69 yards. He also had two special teams fumble recoveries.

And here’s one from PFT, who went exceptionally out of their way to point out the guy has a criminal record:

But if you know you’ve heard his name but can’t remember where, it might be because he was in the news last year when he was arrested for DUI by the same officer who arrested Titans quarterback Steve McNair for DUI in 2003, and who arrested Sahel “Jenni” Kazemi for DUI in July 2009, two days before Kazemi killed McNair and then herself.

Because after all, even though every team has at least a dozen guys with various minor legal entanglements in their past, it’s only newsworthy when they’re signed by the Bengals.
