The Bengals are obviously in need of help at wide receiver, and while most of the speculation has centered on Terrell Owens, and more recently, Brandon Marshall, another name will be the first to visit the team.
Joe Reedy is reporting that Bucs unrestricted free agent WR Antonio Bryant will visit Cincinnati Tuesday.
After pulling in only 39 receptions for 600 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2009, he may not seem like an appealing choice, but he’s just one year removed from 83 receptions, 1,248 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2008.
He is an unrestricted free agent, meaning the team will not have to provide any compensation to sign him, and his age (turning 29 on Tuesday) makes him the youngest of the unrestricted free agents.
Therefore, he’s likely the team’s first choice since Brandon Marshall would cost them a first-round pick and Terrell Owens is 36 and famously unpredictable.
