Steelers Eliminated, Ravens In; Down to Jets or Texans

As the late games are ending and the Bengals prepare to take the field in Jersey, the playoff picture has cleared up quite a bit.

Baltimore has defeated Oakland securing one of the wildcard spots for the Ravens.  By extension, the win knocked the Steelers out of post-season consideration.

With Denver being destroyed by the Chiefs, the final spot looks to be between the Jets and the Texans.  If Cincinnati defeats the Jets, the Texans are in.  The Bengals lose, the Jets make it.  With Houston’s win over New England, the Bengals can secure the 3rd seed in the AFC Playoff draw with a victory, meaning they’d face the 6th seed next week.

Per Bengals.com, early inactives for the Bengals are starting RB Cedric Benson and TE J. P. Foschi for the offense.  Starting defensive players DT Domata Peko, DE Robert Geathers, and S Chris Crocker, all of whom are still recovering from injuries, are also inactive.

Carson Palmer is slated to start the game.
