NFL.com reports how the Bengals are taking the practice field without players wearing names on their jerseys:
Coming off a big win against the defending Super Bowl champions, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis knows this is no time for his players to get overconfident. So, starting Wednesday, Lewis had his equipment manager work overtime to order enough nameless jerseys for every player to practice in this week, writes the Cincinnati Enquirer. The message, Lewis said, is buying into selflessness. “It doesn’t matter what your name and number is, its football and focus on what your assignments are,” Lewis said. “It’s just where we are right now and what we have ahead of us. It’s important as we go forward.”
