Smith’s Agent Keels Comes and Goes Without a Deal

Looks like we won’t be seeing OL Andre Smith anywhere near a field anytime soon wearing a Bengals uniform:

Alvin Keels arrived and departed from Cincinnati on Sunday without a deal for first-round pick Andre Smith. Keels met for four hours with Katie Blackburn and Mike Brown where no progress was made in getting the offensive tackle signed. The Bengals last offer to Smith was five years at the base at $28 million and a maximum of $33 million which is lower than the contract for last year’s sixth pick, the Jets’ Vernon Gholston (base of $32.5 million) and this year’s seventh pick Oakland’s Darrius Heyward-Bey (base of $38.25 million).
