Wednesday Bengals Notes

The Bengals will be holding a press conference tomorrow to announce a “Major Development” regarding the 2009 offseason. While no further details were given, speculation is that they will officially confirm that they will be the subject team for the 2009 installment of the NFL Films/HBO series Hard Knocks. It will be interesting to hear Marvin Lewis’ take on how this will impact the team.

All-time Bengals RT Willie Anderson, rented for a season by Baltimore, has been placed on the team’s reserved/retired list. Looks like the former Auburn standout and first round draft pick of, gulp, David Shula, is hanging up the cleats. It’s unfortunate he didn’t retire as a Bengal as would have been proper, with fanfare and old #71 retired for all time. I guess he’ll have more time to chill at the Fatburger franchises.

Lastly, as one former Bengal leaves the Raven organization, another one is joining them. PFT reported this afternoon that Kelley Washington, the squirrel himself, has agreed to terms with the birds.
