WR Crosby Looking to Find a Role on the Bengals

One player who seemed to shine over the weekend for the Bengals and could find a role on the 2009 club was wide receiver Quan Crosby. He was pointed out more than once by Marvin Lewis, and could make the team as special teams player, maybe taking on the role of punt returner. It’s a role the Bengals need filled, as last season they averaged 7.9 yards per return.

“It’s a great fit for me and I love special teams,” Cosby said. “I’ve been a punt returner and I’ve done kick returns. It is a chance to put the offense in a great position and help move the chains.” Cobsy put up 23.7 yards on kick returns and 11.7 on punt returns, with a touchdown on each during his four seasons at Texas. Last season at WR he had 92 catches for 1,123 yards and 10 touchdowns.

If he can continue to learn the offense and make strides, Cosby could be an impactful addition to the Bengals roster in 2009.
