Henry Talks Positive About the Offseason
From: Cincinnati Enquirer
After an embattled season, one of the most embattled players in the Bengals locker room addressed what he hopes is a more optimistic future for both him and the team. Chris Henry, the talented but troubled wide receiver, said his once-strained relationship with head coach Marvin Lewis began to repair this season and pledged a personal history of arrests won’t reoccur this offseason.
“There won’t be any more problems,” Henry said Monday as Bengals players cleaned out their lockers at Paul Brown Stadium after a 4-11-1 season. Henry, who was re-signed by team owner Mike Brown over Lewis’ apparent objections, sat out the first four games because of an NFL-levied player conduct suspension but finished with 19 catches for 220 yards, including two touchdown catches in the last three games. He will enter the second season of a two-year contract in 2009, possibly with more confidence from Lewis.
