Ryan Fitzpatrick the Cincinnati Bengals backup quarterback becomes an unrestricted free agent after the season, so Sunday’s Dec. 14 home game against the Washington Redskins will be like all the others — an audition for his next team. He could land back with the 1-11-1 Bengals or wind up someplace else. “We’ll see how everything shakes out after the year’s over,” Fitzpatrick said. “It’s something I can’t think about for the next three weeks.
After that, wherever the chips may fall. “It’s obviously been a frustrating year for everybody. For me, personally, I feel like I’m a better player than at the beginning of the year, and the experience goes a long way, especially as a quarterback. You get to a certain level, but you can’t further your career or get any better unless you’re actually on the field playing.”
