Bengals Looking to Keep Confident As They Entertain Jags

Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis is fighting to hold his players’ spirits high as they prepare to open the season’s second half against a Jacksonville team also badly in need of a win.

“We’ve got to find a way to flip the psyche,” Lewis said after last week’s 35-6 loss at Houston. “Our guys are going to feel beat down, but it’s our job to find a way out of that, to have a great week of practice, and to win a football game at home.”

The Jaguars will be fighting for their playoff lives, coming into the game with a 3-4 mark a week after losing 23-17 at home to Cleveland.

The Bengals and Jaguars were rivals in the AFC Central Division from 1995 through 2001, playing twice yearly. Sunday’s game is their third meeting since the 2002 realignment that put Cincinnati in the AFC North and Jacksonville in the AFC South.
