The Bengals have another black eye today, as backup LB Darryl Blackstock has been suspended for the next four games for using a performance-enhancing substance. Blackstock said that a supplement that he took contained an ingredient banned by the league.

“I’ve apologized to my coaches and teammates for an unfortunate mistake,” Blackstock said. “I did not intentionally violate the policy, but I know it’s my responsibility to use only approved nutritional supplements, and I didn’t realize I was taking an over-the-counter product that included a banned substance.”

On the same day, the team also brought back reserve RB Kenny Watson, who was released Saturday when the team needed to open a roster spot for WR Chris Henry. Watson had seven carries in the first four games for 32 yards as a backup to Chris Perry. He will likely split backup time with just signed Cedric Benson.
