Report: Johnson Has a Torn Labrum in Left Shoulder

The Bengals have yet to let on about how bad WR Chad Johnson’s injury may really be.  ESPN’s John Clayton is reporting that Johnson has a torn labrum in his left shoulder, more severe than a sprained shoulder which is what the team said at first after he was hurt vs the Lions on August 17th.

The source told Clayton that Johnson is expected to wear a harness but may be able to avoid surgery and play this season.  They mentioned that Browns TE Kellen Winslow had the same type of injury in 2007, and played through it and had a Pro Bowl season.  It appears that how much Chad plays may have to do with how much he can move the arm and how much pain he can take.

A main part of the Bengals offense, C.J. had 93 catches for 1,440 yards and eight touchdowns last season.  The Bengals offense was awful vs the Saints Saturday night, as they put up just 165 yards, 127 yards passing.
