Bengals Release RB Kenny Irons for Good
Posted by Matt Loede on August 4th, 2008 in News, Roster Moves
The Bengals have for good severed ties with 2007 second-round draft pick Kenny Irons. The team had put Irons on waivers, and though he cleared waivers the team has decided to release him instead of trying to put him on the PUP list. Irons blew out his knee during a preseason game last season, and was trying to make it back. The team will not have to pay his $370,000 salary in 2008. He will make the $275,000 that was coming to him since the team cut him before he was fully healed from his injury from last season.

That sucks. Has there been a team with worse luck on first and second round draft picks than the Bengals?
My earliest memory of this misery is Kijana Carter. Ughhh….

What sucks is Irons is a great back. He will be back and hopefully haunt the pitiful Bengals.
