The Bengals got some good news today as right tackle Willie Anderson was back on the field during an OTA with the club. 2007 was a tough year for Anderson, who was sidelined most of the season with heel and knee injuries. As far as starting, that is another story, but it seems certain that if he can stay healthy, he’ll be in the mix with the team. “It’s going to be an up-in-the-air decision,” Anderson said of whether he would start. “It’s in my mind right now that Stacy is going to be in the first group. We’ll see what happens.” At 33, Anderson will probably be a backup, and some think he may not even make the team, but that remains to be seen. “Willie wants to be a starter. He’s been a great player,” coach Marvin Lewis said. “He maybe didn’t get the recognition until recently, but I think he’s been that kind of player for a long time. So, yeah, he wants the opportunity to get back where he belongs. We have to make a judgment on him doing it. We have a lot of faith in Willie.”
