Stripes Sign Restricted TE Ben Utecht to a Three-Year Offer Sheet

It appears that the Bengals may have themselves a new tight end, as they have signed Colts restricted free agent TE Ben Utecht to a three-year offer sheet. The Colts will have seven days to match the offer. The TE was not drafted, and the Colts will receive no compensation if they choose not to match the terms of the long-term deal that he has negotiated with the Bengals. Utecht last season played in 14 games, catching 31 passes for 364 yards and one score. He has a career 71 grabs for 800 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Colts have already given TE Dallas Clark the richest contract for a tight end in NFL history, so it’s doubtful that they will match the deal for Utecht.
