I say trade him and get a franchise defender for him. If they don't trade him, definately keep him out of the locker room for the whole year. Let's be honest, he is ocho-no show, in all the big games he dropped major passes. These passes hit him right in the hands, so sit him out for a year, maybe another team will be interested. If they trade him now, they need to get his value. But definately keep him out of the locker room this year, he will be deactivating to our Bengals team.

It's a difficult conclusion to make, that's for sure. What we definitely don't need is for the Bengals to take a page out of the Reds' traditional off-season playbook by selling off a great player(s) for margainal gain. Draft picks would be awful. A straight-up Chad Johnson exchange for a franchise defender would be more like it.

But the most important aspect to last years disappointments had to do with the INJURED defense, not just the fact that the defense sucked. Everyone was hurt, and they were fielding a roster full of 3rd stringers and rookies. But the good players will be healthy next year. If the Bengals don't put up a 12-13 win season in 2008, then I'd agree with you. It's not like Chad is going to pull a T.O. or a Randy Moss and simply quit playing. He's good, but despite his awesome season, he dropped so many passes he should have caught. I think we're jumping the gun and getting too excited at the thought of a winning season instead of seeing what happens.
