Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer has emerged as a possible canadiate to take over the ravaged Bengals defense. The Cincy Enquirer is reporting that though Zimmer is under contract to the Falcons, the Bengals were given permission to speak to Zimmer about the position. The Bengals are not going to fire any other assistant coaches this offseason says the paper, despite there being a call for an overhaul in the team going forward for 2008. Zimmer might be let go anyway when the Falcons hire a new head coach, something they are in the process of looking to do right now. Before being in Atlanta, Zimmer was the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.
