REWARDS: Johnson possesses all the qualities you could ever want in a wide receiver – good size and speed, terrific athleticism along with an exemplary work ethic. The 29-year-old has been a model of season-to-season consistency throughout his career, averaging 92 receptions, 1,358 yards and nine touchdowns over the last four seasons. Not to mention the fact he also plays in an explosive offense with one of the league’s most accurate passers in quarterback Carson Palmer. Johnson was utilized in over 16 percent of his team’s overall offensive plays in 2006.

RISKS: Johnson’s touchdown totals could be higher for a No. 1 wideout. He scored five of his seven touchdowns in a two-game span, showing game-to-game inconsistency. Johnson has only posted a 10-touchdown season once in his career (2003). The loss of receiver Chris Henry to suspension could have an effect on Johnson’s production somewhat as Henry’s big-play potential downfield kept opposing defenses honest.

BOTTOM LINE: Johnson, clearly in the prime of his career, is a bona fide No. 1 option and should be one of the first wideouts selected come Draft Day. There are simply too few flaws in his game. Johnson would be a great third-round pick after already selecting your starting running backs.
